Dinosaurs

This is a great site for learning about different dinosaurs and some key facts about dinosaurs.  There are little sections down the page, which you can click on to download pictures to support learning in that area.  There are colouring sheets, activities, games, jokes and riddles and links to online computer games.

The Britannica website for kids.  A simple description of dinosaurs with lots of factual information.  Click on the images to the left hand side.  When they are enlarged on screen they have a description and the last one is a video.

An amazing website with tones of information about dinosaurs on the land, in the sea and in the sky.  It has an associated podcast which can be accessed on the site or through a link.  Some pages have the episode to listen to that matches the information.

Mary Anning is a significant person from history linked to this topic.  She found fossils and researched dinosaurs but being a woman and poor she experienced discrimination when trying to share her findings.  This page on the BBC bitesize website has a video about her life and quiz.

2 useful maps locating dinosaurs found across the UK and where dinosaurs were found around the world (a foreign language map but useful all the same).

We have our own Jurassic coastline.  Robin Hood's Bay is famous for all the fossils that can be found littering the beach.  Take a trip and see what you can find.

Click on the books to go to an Amazon search of Dinosaur books for children.
